Do you really know WordPress? Are you a legend in Javascript and PHP? 3BY2 is an South African-managed marketing provider searching for a motivated and dependable Full Stack developer to support our Johannesburg-based Front-End team.
It’s a nerdy role because we’re a pretty nerdy company. You’ll need to be a great developer, who is excellent at writing Javascript and PHP on both new builds and existing builds. We’ll need you troubleshooting in CSS, HTML, PHP and JavaScript, being our “go-to” person when we hit bumps in the road with the back-end code (we know it rhymes, how cute).
You’ll be our wingman in full-stack, when we hit those 10-20% of hurdles that can’t be solved by our front-end developers. You’ll be measured on speed, accuracy and ultimately getting an issue solved.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & maintain functional and fast-responsive web applications using mark-up languages
- Develop quality, front-end code following coding standards and best practices
- Maintain a high level of productivity and code quality
- Custom web and web application development and maintenance
- Development of CMS frameworks (WordPress)
- Creating and implementing database schemas that represent and support business processes
- WordPress plugin development and plugin architecture
- Theme/template integration and modifying existing themes/templates
- Implement Web standards and good coding practices, as well as user-oriented design
- Discuss and provide technical solutions and provide innovative new ideas for solutions
- Provide accurate timing estimates on work and the daily completion of tasks
- Constantly look for and prototype new and better/more efficient ways to do things
- Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility and web accessibility standards/best practices
Skills & Abilities
- 4 – 5 years experience in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of CMS products, specifically WordPress
- Excellent ability to code in PHP and knowledge of other coding languages desirable.
- Knowledge of semantic HTML and experience implementing search engine optimisation techniques
- Knowledge of working with JavaScript frameworks to create rich interactive content
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Strong skills in CSS and the ability to troubleshoot visual elements outside of the page theme.
- Knowledge of cyber security and malicious web file management desirable
- Excellent experience working on the entire life cycle of websites
- Self-management skills
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to multitask in a demanding environment
